DESCRIPTION:Sliding scale fee of $3-$10 per person (collected at check-in\, cash is preferred). Registration required by Monday\, May 11th. Email jessicaj@woodlanddunes.org or call the nature center at 920-793-4007. \nAmerican Kestrels are North America’s smallest and most colorful falcon\, but have been declining steadily over the last three decades. Danny Erickson\, a wildlife biologist and master’s student at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay\, will discuss this bird’s natural history\, research\, and conservation efforts across Wisconsin. He partners with many citizen scientists\, state and local conservation agencies\, and stalwart kestrel enthusiasts installing nestboxes to help monitor and conserve this icon of our grasslands. After an indoor presentation\, optional field trip to the preserve to look for this bird.

Guided bird hikes will be available throughout the morning (please register for the 7am and 8am hikes starting April 27th) and self-guided activities for families will be available. We will also be offering a delicious ham and pancake breakfast. Our friends from Barnwood Coffee Company will also be here serving their certified bird-friendly coffee. DESCRIPTION:Free for all  \nJoin local birder\, Joel Trick\, for a guided bird walk along the trails at Woodland Dunes. Look and listen for migrants and resident birds during the spring migration. Bring your binoculars and register by Thursday\, May 21st. Space is limited\, so register early! The walk will last at least one hour\, but may be longer if the birding is good. This is an educational evening\, not a scary one. Non-scary costumes and warm clothes are encouraged. Space is limited\, group sizes are kept small. Timeslots start at 4:30pm and are offered every 10 minutes.
