Motus is an organization of hundreds of sites throughout the world that record radio telemetry from birds and other animals fitted with small transmitters. Woodland Dunes operates two Motus stations which record birds passing through the preserve. Join Jacob Woulf, Motus Coordinator for the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory, to learn about motus station equipment, transmitters, and Wisconsin’s role in the tracking system. He’ll also explain how to navigate the website to look at individualized tracks of birds, including some recorded at Woodland Dunes.
